The use of guns

Statistics show that a total of 146 school events have experienced a shooting from the years of 2000 - 2018. In today's news there's a lot of mention of gun control, gun safety and whether or not our teachers should be armed in schools. The debate continues between if any one should have guns or if everyone should have the ability to concealed to carry in order to protect themselves. There's a poll going on a website asking for the public’s opinion on this question “Should School Teachers be armed with guns poll?” That being said not only are teachers being questioned to be allowed to carry but also our large population of 18 year olds that are wanting to go hunting or just cause of their rights, carry. 18 year old are being affected by the new nation wide spread act of the age limit being raised to 21.
In this image it shows a chart of where in the United States it is still legal for “Children” to possess a long gun (i.e rifles and shotguns). Although the chart shows one thing, but laws are put in place to set a minimum age limit to purchase a weapon that being 18 years old. Although, if a parent were to purchase a weapon for a child's 14th or 16th birthday, they are free to  go right ahead and do that in most states.Guns are a wide spread possession, kids, teens and adults all have them now. “What do you want for your 18th birthday? A gun? Sure here I got this for ya” Then a parent hands his child a large weapon that can possibly kill an entire herd of elephants or in many cases kill an entire classroom of students. The argument between who can carry or if society alone should just give up the right to own a gun continues to make headlines on today’s newspapers. When will this stop? When will the killing sprees and the fear of not being safe in very “Safe” places come to an end? Today, the Government is now arguing between the Pros and Cons of the public owning guns such as  crime rates can either disappear or increase dramatically. Should the people have a say in how they feel about guns ? or should we leave it to the government to keep us safe? Do we trust in our government? Or do we take it into our own hands with the protests and the regulation of laws?
